Where it all started

Welcome to our first ever blog post. This is a story about two mums wanting a better fashion future for our little ones. Growing up with fashionable mums always inspired us to love fashion but in a quirky way. Fashion has been such a big part of our lives and we have always wanted to be a part of it since a young age. Growing up and seeing that there wasn’t much great fashion for babywear or kids was disheartening for us. The typical blue for a boy and pink for a girl was always around. We wanted to bring an eco fashion unisex style to the market, incorporating quirky characters for both girl and boy. 

The idea started back in 2018 where the Ottie and Tottie journey began and boy has it been a journey, indeed. 

Lots of conversations in both our kitchens with tea and biscuits. 

We came up with our name and the ideas started flowing from there. 

Being busy working mums in 9-5 jobs within the fashion industry gave us the courage to go for our dream. 

Our big aim back in 2018 was to be a sustainable brand. We knew things had to change in the fashion industry and this was very important for the cut down on pollution. 

Having all our ideas collated together with colour palettes/ shape inspo and all our own handrawn characters we put our first collection together and found a factory to produce this. 

Exciting times ahead but this all came crashing to a halt when the factory let us down. We pulled through, found another one and managed to get our first collection out called ‘Circus’ which you can see in our lookbook collections on our website. 

We learnt a lot with our first collection but having these problems made us tackle them head on and become better and stronger for the next chapter.
